Brighthand takes a look at Nokia's latest smartphone which runs Symbian 3. I've always felt that Symbian was one of those operating systems that had got left behind. It does make me wonder why Nokia has stayed with the OS and not either gone for Android or done something new.
There have never been a lot of music applications for Symbian and I can't see that changing any time soon either.

Maybe Nokia hasn't gone to a new OS like Android because Symbian is the top selling Mobile OS? Half of every mobile phones out there uses Symbian. But hey in this everything-Apple world, this is not the kind of stat we often hear about (Apple is now actually 4th since Android sales surpassed iphones sales this year).

You're absolutely right about Symbian, but they don't make it easy for developers to get into their ecosystem and get apps out.
It is a real shame that whilst they are huge they aren't moving forward in the same way that Android and iOS are.
I'd love to see a Symbian implementation that allowed developers to make lots of apps for it, but I've only seen maybe a couple of apps for music on Symbian.
