AppleInsider reports that the new 4th Gen iPod Touch has only 256mb of RAM against the new iPhone's 512. Strange that apple should limit the device that way when it has been suggested that the new device is so close to the iPhone 4.

It's likely a non-issue since the ipad also only has 256mb. Perhaps it helps with multitasking but I can't see developers making full use of it if the other devices are limited to half.as much.
I bet there's a 1gb RAM iPad in the not too distant future
