ipad : 600$ and more.
jazzmutant lemur : 2000$
So even if you buy 200$ worth of apps, the ipad is still much cheaper, and more versatile (ie not only music related). As much as I love Jazzmutant and I dislike Apple, I may get an ipad just because I don't have 2000$ for a large multitouch pad (,yet). Though I suspect there is no latency at all on the lemur, where there's a small one on the ipad/touch.
