Let's face it, whilst the limitations are reducing all the time there are still limitations to what you can do with a mobile device. What do you think are the biggest limitations, and what do you do to overcome them? Perhaps more importantly, do you think that the limitations you find or experience actually help you in the process of making music, and in what ways?

I have an iPad 3, it glitches out. I think as a new comes it will dominate. Just my point of view. The world is moving fast., if you are not it will only be dust in your eyes.

For me jailbreaking my iPad made a big difference. Having access to to the file structure so that I can literally move wav files between apps takes a lot of the hassle out of using an ios device. Unfortunately jailbreaking has a bad name because of piracy, but being able to access all the folders that your samples are in, in all the apps you use, without having to connect to a computer, that wins hands-down for me.
a persons personals limitations, which I have manny. But in this format their is a lot of fun to be had at the right price.

The limitation not to be able to upgrade an iPad. Audiobus for Gadget... Cool! iPad Air recommended... shit... My iPad 4 is half a year old. So buying a new device for nearly 1.000 Euros?! Guess no!
"Glitching out" -- if this means crashing into the CPU's overhead, i would concur on my iPad 3 and iPad Air.
In comparison to a MacBook Pro, one has to manage this limitation. For example: it's good to soft restart the iPad before an audio session.
On the other hand, the touch paradigm combined with a computer DAW is fantastic 'best of both worlds.'
It is getting so complete, but two areas of connectivity should not exist:
1.the inability to power the device when high quality peripherals, like Apogee Mic, Jam, And too many control surfaces to name...
2. Inability to transfer audio files from external drives, other than photos...
3. Not exactly related, but if you are making music videos, why do no iOS video editing programs support multiple layers yet? It is infantile how limited the options are...
No access to the file system.
No ways to share large samples libraries to many apps at once without the need to duplicate files.
Developpers are not allowed to make a true DAW which could use plugins like VST and AU without the need for each plugin to be approved by Apple.
No multi window system. There is one if you jailbreak and its awesome. Apple should allow such apps to be used without the need to jailbreak. We are not children.
