I know a few people have noticed the crashes with this app. I've been exchanging emails with the developer and a fix has gone into Apple to sort this out. More details at the developer's site here.

This App works really well for me on my iPod Touch (3rd Gen). The detected chords are very accurate and the capo option is really useful for a novice like me to find the easiest set of chords to play. I would definitely recommend it!
