So far the products include FourTrack and DopplerPad. Retronyms and Sonoma Wire Works will work together to add features that allow users to easily move between DopplerPad and FourTrack, the most comprehensive multitrack recorder on the iPhone. More announcements about these products and others coming soon.
Which is brilliant in it's own right. I can't wait to use DopplerPad and FourTrack together! However, there's more. A call for developers to get involved:
Join a growing collection of quality audio tools working toward interoperability in order to enhance music creation on mobile devices.
Initially this program is geared toward iPhone developers, however other platforms continue to be evaluated. Products are reviewed and accepted on a case by case basis (based on quality, possibilities of interaction with other products involved in the program, and other criteria).
If this can work and enough developers get behind it then we could potentially see real benefits from apps working together and that has got to solve lots of the problems that people have had to date.
I think this is excellent news, but I'd be really interested in developer and user feedback. Let me know what you think.

I was just thinking about app integration this morning. All the music apps I use on iPhone are little more than toys, but if they could be tied together, they could form quite a cohesive portable studio environment.
Fair play to Sonoma for trying to make it happen.
It's long been on people's wish list I think. We've got great sound design and loop generation tools, great performance tools and great composition tools (although this is the weakest area IMHO), but they just can't play together without convoluted solutions involving exporting to desktop computers and re-importing.
Still, I'm having great fun with it all the same.
Actually this has been done ages before by Amidio.
All our apps - Noise.io, Hexatone, Star Guitar Pro, Star Piano Pro, Star Melody, and Intua Beatmaker are cross-compatible and can share audio data via ioLibrary.
An integration standard would be great.
Jasuto, BeatMaker, FourTracks, RecTools, NoiseIO and iShred.... all just exporting and importing wav files would be great.
ToyoBunko, you're right, you guys have been doing this for a while now and as far as I know no one else has or has asked to interface with your apps, which is a real shame.
Will you get involved in this initiative?
Martin, I'd add MegaSynth, NLog, Looptastic Producer and probably others too.
Within a few days we will launch new version of our main website amidio.com.
We will start to expand our ioLibrary program by offering SDK for exporting .wav, wi-fi server operations and much more. We've got these things steady and working.
(So we will offer real help with code and programming)
We also are finishing an SDK for unified clock syncing between the apps via wifi/bluetooth. Also midi via wifi will be available at some point.
Not sure about what these guys want to do with their MAPI. From what I've seen there are just words and no real mention of what they intend to do on the code level. Maybe they will want to join our ioLibrary program at some time.
I guess if it is cheap and simple for devs then they'll go for it.
This will be great, let's hope everyone plays nice yeah?
what about Amidio?
