Animoog nominated for 28th Annual TEC Awards
Whilst it is of course good to see that an app like Animoog gets nominated the more important, or more significant issue here is that an iPad music creation app is nominated. That signals a far more mainstream acceptance of mobile music making to me. Yes, it is a Moog app, but perhaps we can take this as a bit of a signpost for things to come, and maybe we need our own music making app awards?
Full details at the Moog site.
SoundCloud Sync with Getty Images Music
A number of sites have posted this since SoundCloud launched it and it is of course good news, but I also find it interesting in the context of being able to upload a track directly from a mobile app and then potentially make money from it, which is a possibility now although I doubt any of my tracks are going to attract huge commercial licencing interest.
Still. Good move on SoundCloud's part.

Google wants to encourage developers to create better tablet apps
Of course I'd like to see better quality tablet apps in the Android world but most of all more high quality music apps.
Anyway, if you're interested in seeing Google's guidelines you can find them here.

It's for single made with Nanoloop. So if you've got a single track made in Nanoloop and you want to get it published then why not try Nanoloop singles.

RJDJ is gone, but RJDJ Dimensions is still around
So, to mark the last day that RJDJ was on the app store (it's gone now), the new app of the week is RJDJ's Dimensions game, which is free too.
And if anyone's noticed weird price fluctuations on the app of the week widget please let me know as one reader has experienced some very strange behaviour with it.

Jatun - "Mobile"
I don't know if I've posted this before or not, but either way it's worth a look. I actually find things like this quite inspiring really. It makes me want to go out and do some filming again.
As far as I can tell this used a bunch of mobile apps and devices one of which was repeaterDS, which is why I stumbled over it.
Enjoy.

While we wait for Repeater iOS, here's some RepeaterDS
As we're waiting for repeater to come to iOS I thought I'd re-post this little video I made of the original. I might even try and see if I can find a few more of the original DS app from long ago.
Design a case for iPhone 5 with Tinkercad
I think 3D printing is a pretty cool thing so this video and the shapeways contest really appeals to me. There isn't long to go but I'm wondering if I can come up with a music based design.

Repeater coming to iOS from it's DS origins
Great to see this original DS app coming in to the iOS world. I was a fan of it back then, I'm sure it'll be great when it arrives.

TANSU Synth arrives, but beware!
Ordinarily I'd be really interested in an app like this, but beware, the note at the end of the app's description may restrict you.
The iOS application - which is named "TANSU (dresser)", is a miniature version of a Modular Analog Synthesizer. This synthesizer is the same as the one used and mastered by Hideki Matsutake of LOGIC SYSTEM.
The sounds that were sampled and used for the VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) come directly from the actual "TANSU" owned by Hideki Matsutake himself. In addition, it also contains many original LOGIC SYSTEM recordings. The application condenses the fun, experience and sound of an actual modular synthesizer onto the small screen of an iPhone!!
What will the sound be like when using the application? This application is focused on providing the user with the feeling and excitement of using the actual synthesizer for which it is based.
Not only for a techno fan, but for any music lover!! Feel what it is like to create your own music!!
Try this application to experience the "the birth of sound and music."
The main functions
LOGIC BOX
Sound effects such as Shepard Tone and rhythms from music by LOGIC SYSTEM have been made directly into the sound source.
MUSIC
You can use your iPhones own music library as a sound source. (However, certain tracks which are covered under DRM may not be used).
Microphone function
You can use sounds which have been recorded with microphone.
Preset function
You can explore the potential of the TANSU Synth from various demo patterns. Moreover, it can be utilized as a tutorial for beginners.
VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator), VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter), VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier), LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator), EG (Envelope Generator)
Enhance the basic functionality of an analog synthesizer. (Various sound processing is possible.)
It has an 2 channel 8 step analog sequencer!
(We are planning to add a function for converting to a 1 channel 16 step sequencer)
You can enjoy connecting and reconnecting the patch cord to create sounds just as with a real synthesizer.
Three sound sources can be mixed by a three-channel mixer!
support:iPhone4S, iPhone5, iPad(Over iOS5.0)
Notes:
Commercial use of the works created by using this application is subject to the copyright clearance from right holders.
The app is priced at $4.99

Lovely isn't it? And, only 17 Euros too. Not bad. You can find it here. Shame there isn't one for the iPhone 5 as yet.

iOS6 and Strange Agency apps not such a happy place
The Strange Agency posted that their apps aren't very happy with iOS6, which is a real shame as I love their apps. However, they're working on fixes, so hopefully not too long to wait before the strangeness is back.

Apologies for the pause
You may have noticed the lack of posting over the last few days. In case you were wondering if there was anything to worry about, there isn't. I've just been away for a few days and I've not had any time to catch up as yet.
But things should get back to normal quite soon.
