TouchOSC updated to version 1.9.4, the first update in over a year

It's great to see this veteran iOS app get new features after quite a wait. Here's what's new:
  • Added support for MIDI System Exclusive messages
  • Added support for sending keystrokes and keystroke-combinations (via TouchOSC Bridge)
  • Added "Invert" option to Push control "Y position velocity" feature
  • Miscellaneous minor bug-fixes and stability improvements

zMors Modular 1.1 adds a lot of new stuff

Synthecaster 3 brings iPhone 6 and 6+ compatibility and more

Here's what's new in Synthecaster 3.0:
  • Support for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus screen sizes.
  • The number of key rows can now be adjusted between a range of values depending on the screen size.
  • When pitch bending a note, the note will now stay held no matter how far above or below the note you drag your finger.
  • Menus can now be dismissed by dragging from any empty space on the menu or dragging from the bottom if the menu is scrollable.
  • The MIDI Destinations menu now has an All Local Destinations option, which automatically sends MIDI to all connected outputs that aren't network sessions.

touchAble 3.0 arrives

touchAble 3.0 arrives and it's a big update. I'm especially intrigued by the link mode which sounds like it could be very useful and enable some new creative possibilities.

Cotracks update brings overdub recording and much more

Here's what's new at Cotracks:
  • Overdub recording - add new notes to sequences by blending
  • Swing - nondestructive time and velocity swing control over the whole song or by individual tracks
  • Tap tempo - quickly synchronize playback tempo with external music by tapping
  • Audiobus 2 support - available on devices with iOS 7 and later
  • IAA - Inter App Audio support

midiSequencerLite update brings in many features from 1.6 full version

midiSequencerLite isn't just a great way to work out if the full version is worth getting (and it is, just see the update to 1.7), but it is in fact a really handy MIDI sequencer in its own right now. Here's what's new in the update:

midiSequencerLite has been updated to include many features from v1.6 of Full version.
  • Limited to picking 1 CC
  • Chords available - limited to 2 notes, Maj/Min chord
  • Only 10 snapshots available for selection
  • Banks are compatible with full version.
  • Other limitations apply.

midiSequencer 1.7 is a huge update with up to 16 MIDI controllers per step and more, so it's worth checking out the app again

midiSequencer was already a really good sequencer app, but it just got loads better. Here's what's new:

This new version sees a major overhaul to include up to 16 midi controllers per step (Sysex, NRPN/RPN, named CC's etc)

Enhancements:
  • new colour scheme - cool blue.
  • monitor function - enables you to hear steps by touching. Can also play sliders (even whilst not playing) to make MS a controller interface.
  • complete rework of midi controllers - now have 16 midi controllers :
    • Each can be defined as Continuous(0..127), NRPN, RPN, Program Change, Aftertouch, Pitchbend or Sysex (or custom) data
    • Can record these into midiSequencer too.
    • Optional one byte entry for NRPN & RPN
    • CC's can be named to match hardware (will update list on future updates - Novation Ultranova & Waldorf Q & Blofeld)
    • Key(polyphonic) or Channel(monophonic) aftertouch on step notes
    • Pitchbend (14 bit)
    • Hex pad entry for Sysex data (up to 76 bytes) with autolayout
    • Sysex data not restricted to sysex - can be any midi data you wish! Chain sysex using multiple CC's.
    • Define 16 controllers in one panel - will reload on next runup or save/loaded with your snapshot.
  • limit controls - will narrow down lower/upper ranges for easy input & clip existing. Note: will reset on load to avoid clipping.
  • new ornament - 2 note tremolo (octave arpeggio)
  • new step logic : repeat notes x2 to x8 and stop
  • latched notes - use for drones (no midi note off sent until unlatched)
  • performance panel - One touch load with non-empty slot selected now loads immediately. Save Bank for quick save action
  • increased bank size up to 40 snapshots (20-40 accessible from performance panel)
  • big improvement on file/bank save/loading times and file size
  • file/Bank description increased from 50 to 120 characters
  • files Panel - can now sort by Name or Date (see small buttons at top of list)
  • tempo clock fraction multipliers now 1/2, 1/3 & 1/4
  • chords - can save current chord+notes as a preset and use to restore on other steps
  • auto close non-moveable panels by touching outside panel

bug fixes:
  • random button not showing options if pf panel open
  • app launch was timing out if many midi devices connected - now delaying scan until main screen shown
  • fixed Options when swapping from Slave to Master & v.v, and hide tempo slider if SLAVE
  • fixed cycle logic - change of direction, now stops at corrrect step
  • easier to select Transpose decrement button
  • bank name no longer shows as yellow after new save
  • exit on Files or Snapshots panels now correctly returns to that panel
  • removed duplicate buttons on New Bank has been modified.
  • shift L or R was corrupting steps & displaying at different place
  • play button would sometime be huge

Magellan Jr 2.1 bring IAA FX and more

Noatikl 2 adds IAA, AB2 and more

Here's what's new in Noatikl 2:
  • Added support for Apple Inter-App Audio, meaning you can record directly in e.g. GarageBand without requiring Audiobus
  • Audiobus updated to Audiobus 2
  • When you make a change to a Partikl knob setting the pop-up bottom slider no longer immediately auto-hides; you now have have a few seconds to make further changes via the slider
  • Selecting a SF2 patch in the Wavetable Unit no longer auto closes the dialog, improving sound previewing
  • We've refined how the IAP and timeout works to give more granularity and allow ads; purchasors of the prior all-in-one IAP will see no ads and have the same unlocked functionality they had before
  • Various bug fixes, plus other changes to support the above

Arctic ProSynth gets an update. Here's what's new:

New Features
  • Audiobus 2.1 for iOS 8

Bug Fixes
  • Saving of aftertouch routing when set to off
  • Fix for obscure bug in MIDI handler when switching apps
  • Fix ADSR for long release tails
  • Fix for Chorus / Phaser LFO

** This change may affect your existing presets. While every effort has been made to ensure that your presets are unaltered it may be possible that you will have to re-edit the Chorus and Phaser Rate settings. Factory presets now sound correctly.

NanoStudio 1.44 arrives with AB2.1 support

NanoStudio gets a little update to include the latest Audiobus SDK, but as a result now requires iOS7. iOS 5 and 6 users can of course continue to still use the previous version.

MultitrackStudio for iPad updated to version 1.4

Here's what's new with MultitrackStudio for iPad:
  • Overview bar (above tracks) shows editor data while scrolling an editor. Works for all editors except the Song Editor.
  • Editors: needle no longer moves while scrolling with one finger. Use two fingers to move needle too.
  • Opening track editor: height is identical to existing open track editors (if any).
  • Editors scroll faster after scrolling in the same direction repeatedly.
  • Track name box flashes after closing the track editor, making the track easier to find.
  • Audio input level fader now appears in the main view when it's needed (the Input button is removed).
  • Audio track: input selector shows level meters even if Rec button isn't engaged.
  • New 'Chords' onscreen keyboard (play chords with one finger).
  • Onscreen keyboard: keys can be wider (zoom with two fingers on the gray bar at the top).
  • Reverb effect now has Lo Freq, Lo Mult, Hi Cut, Spin en Width knobs.
  • Uses Audiobus 2.1.2 SDK (iOS 8 ready). iOS 7 or newer is now required because of this.
  • Extension Pack (in-app purchase) now includes mixer and effect automation.
  • Fixed: audio editors could flicker while scrolling backwards.

Conductr 1.2 brings a new take on the XY controller

As you may remember Conductr is now working on a freemium model. Conductr 1.2 brings a new 4 dimensional XY Pad that CDM thinks is the best XY controller on the iPad so far.

Anyway, here's the details of the update:

NEW FEATURE: 4-DIMENSIONAL XY PAD
  • Each XY-4D pad can contain up to 4 fx units.
  • Control up to 4 parameters in a single fx unit: one horizontally (X), one vertically (Y), one by pinching (Z) and one on/off parameter by tapping (K).
  • Each fx unit has a reset and a freeze mode.
  • Control 16 parameters in a single XY-4D pad.
  • Control up to 64 parameters with the Playground’s 4 User Modules view mode.

NOTE: The Conductr freemium version includes one XY-4D fx unit. You can purchase the Premium User Modules to get unlimited user modules, each one of them featuring four XY-4D fx units.
