I've been wondering whether the fact that Teenage Engineering partnered with another developer for parts of the latest OS is something that might lead elsewhere. Specifically I wondered if this might at some point lead to OP-1 'apps' or installable synths (sapps?).
Wouldn't that be great? I guess it shouldn't be that difficult, especially after the arrival of the OP-1 patch generator (which is very cool in case you missed that one).
So, any developer / OP-1 owners want to chip in with views?

I very much doubt that Teenage Engineering would 'open' the OP-1 to developers, like Apple with the iPad. They like to be very much in control of their products, their design, development, etc., to allow anyone to 'dip in' and try whatever. What is not unthinkable now is that they could invite another developer. But I don't think they really need to do that either. I very much doubt they're running out of ideas of their own. However, I wouldn't get any hopes of seeing another OP-1 update this year.
What is more exciting is what Tobias seems to suggest in that PointBlank session, with that smile of his, that seems to refer to a new musical instrument from Teenage Engineering. But for TE, that could well also mean another year. (I'm still waiting for some of the things they promised for the Oplab.)
