SHREDDER - Synth for Guitar arrives!

Yonac do it again! I'm only hearing good things about this app. Here's what they've delivered:

Special Introductory Price! 60% off (until January 14, 2012)!

Say hello to SHREDDER: the first professional iOS synthesizer designed for guitar! Raspy synth swells? Gotcha covered. Bass-doubled riffs? Yup. Strings 'n Things for beefing up the mix? Ditto. No special synth pickup needed.

SHREDDER is a synthesizer controlled by your guitar. Pop it on, plug in your guitar, hit the "Guitar Synth" button and start jamming. SHREDDER comes with a true analog synth engine including dual oscillators, 3 types of filter, a dedicated FM envelope as well as other goodies like dual LFOs, a virtual pedalboard and more. Chose among 100+ built-in presets, or create and save endless ones of your own.

SHREDDER comes with a dedicated guitar mix fader to mix in your guitar, and has attack and decay sensitivity faders to allow you to customize guitar tracking to your playing and input interface, whether its a USB in, a guitar adapter or the plain built-in mic. Headphones are required with use of the built in-mic, and we always recommend following the manufacturer's instructions for your audio interface to prevent feedback or a noisy signal.

But SHREDDER doesn't just toot its own horn: It's also a MIDI interface. Browse and select virtual MIDI compatible apps or MIDI Compatible devices inside the app, and select which one's you'd like to control. Hit "MIDI OUT" when ready, and start driving any of your favorite apps/synths/drum machines/etc via SHREDDER. And, yes...you can drive all of the 16 MIDI channels at the same time.

I love this app! App of the week, maybe the most inventive this year interfacing new technology for guitars!

Looks neat but I already have ThumbJam and the recent update added pitch to MIDI conversion (and MIDI out) and does it well, for me at least.

This looks very interesting !
I wonder if it's more of an effect on the audio or more of an analysis / conversion engine ?

Also mono or polyphonic ?

Seams Thumbjam 2 also has a Audio to midi convertor built in now too .... These both blow my mind as in the late 90's early 2000's there were few choices for guitar synths and all were either very expensive, complex, inaccurate, or subpar if not all the above .
Another reason I am glad I invested in the iPad ...."apple fan boy love " aside I am truly finding this thing a kinda swiss army studio tool which saves space & time not to mention funds .

I bought it this morning and haven't had a chance to play with it yet but I'm really excited to see what kind of crazy noises I can get out of it.

I spent the day with this app in my home studio yesterday and I really found it interesting and very usable. It is monophonic, it is a full blown synth, and it is a conversion engine. It took just a few seconds to setup as both a live synth on one track and a midi VSTi controller on another. ThumbJam is a great product also but if you are a life long guitar player there is nothing easier than writing a part on 6 strings. Granted I have been playing for the better part of 30 years, but I am also a sound designer, composer and have been in synthesis since "tape tone syncing" (some of you might likely have to look that up:-).
I agree with DBM on the midi guitar controllers of the past, none of them could come this close to perfect for $6.00! (Thats like a beer and a half) If you are a guitar player don't hesitate buying this as the synth sounds generated for your guitar are useful in itself. Please note that I am using an original 1972 Telecaster Thinline with stock humbuckers and it is simply amazing!

@Robert and DBM,

I'd just like to back-up the amazement with technology advances.

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and every time I plug into my iThings to process or record it still blows me away.

I wish the devs well and hope they make some money, hell, I might even spring for this as well ... It's Christmas. :)
