The Modern DJ on Touch DJ Evolution

A very comprehensive review of this new Amidio app from the Modern DJ.

That "review" is biased, full of unexplainable hate, and some of the things he writes about are nothing even close to reality. There are pure LIES about wave image skipping, beat sync bugs and glitches. I am sorry to see that Palm sounds promotes such evidently dishonest reviews. Everybody is welcome to download the app for free and see it is actually the best - and cheapest - real DJ solution currently available. Toyo, creator

@Toyo We all appreciate your unbiased opinion.

... or, lets say, your unbiased review of that review.

Ouch...seriously though, have you read through the blog and the other reviews? Why would I single out your app for 'hate'? I've paid for the premium plugins to the app and wish to share my experiences of them.

Now, a professional response from the dev team would be to contact me off blog and discuss the issues I've raised as there maybe a simple explanation such as file types or memory leakage from the app...you are still welcome to do this. In the meantime I'll probably try and put together this in a video and post to YouTube for you to witness first hand.

As an aside, I think the promo video of the app which Amidio posted on YouTube even had audio glitches throughout which a few people (apart from myself) noticed...so it's not just me being a bitter consumer on my iPad 1.

Ugh, iOS developer drama.

Here's some advice for Toyo:
Don't call your app the 'best - and cheapest - real DJ solution'. That might be what you think it is but someone seems to disagree with you here.

Attacking customers is just the totally wrong way to handle this. Either have a professional conversation with DJ Hombre or if that isn't possible ignore it or prove that his points are invalid.

As it stands you're just showcasing bad style.

In what way was the review biased? Seemed like a thorough and fair evaluation to me (and by someone who is obviously experienced and knowledgeable). The first iOS apps I bought were four (full price) from the Amidio stable, including Touch DJ. I will not be trying this, not because I've been swayed by the so-called biased review, but because they only seem interested in developing new apps and not updating or supporting their current lineup. Understandable perhaps, but I fell out of love with them some time ago. I hope that the other stuff they're working on is more interesting. I eagerly await their arrival.

@Toyo;
Are there still plans for the release of Hexatone 2.0?

I think the review was ok, but missing some meat and details.

I do think that the review should state that the app is free to try and what features are available for purchase. I downloaded the app because it was free, but have not purchased the premium version because after looking at it, I felt it was merely new features above the original Touch DJ. I don't pay for minor upgrades.

I'd like to hear more about the track loading. You say you have to import a track and then load it from the app directory? Really? Other apps are able to do this in one step, like DJay, Tap DJ, Future DJ, and even Quixpin. Also, could it import and build waveforms while your were playing another song and could it build the waveform of the song you were playing? That's one of the features I always liked about Quixpin. They seemed to do it right and they came out before everyone else. Seems like others could have learned from them. DJay, TapDJ, and Future DJ are doing it the right way now.

I'd also like to see in the review, what do the effects sound like? Any good? Compared to others like Sonorasaus which has a bunch which sound really nice.

I think the part about the beat alignment is part in par the difficulty of creating an auto-DJ function. It's a tough job and NOBODY has done it perfectly.

To Toyo, we are all aware that you believe your app is the best and cheapest. That's cool. But folks on this blog are also very well aware that your support for your older products is non-existant, you ignore your own website, and you disappear for extended periods of time while you're working on your new products and ignoring your old ones.

Finally, I find it interesting how many DJ apps are being compared to DJay. DJay is such a simplistic app and really isn't very good in my opinion for a real DJ experience because they dumb too many things down, like the PFL. Great for Kids who have a wad of money to waste though.

As Hombre said, listen from 3m30s and you'll hear jumps.
