I read the post and I get his point...but.
It seems that the iOS musician are dividing. Some want to use the devices as another piece of equipment plugged in to their home studios, while others want to be unplugged and create music exclusively on the device. I think developers should accommodate both.
I also see his point though. If people are asking for sample import and record, why not just get a different app such as chipPad which is what Cascadr would eventually evolve into if he considered users request.

What I've always wanted to have in IOS is a VST/AU/app host. Why isn't there anything like this after 5 years is puzzling.

Its sad that Apple won't let us have real music hosts in IOS, because technically its doable. So were stuck with apps that can't talk to each other (ACP doesn't count).
