ProRemote update

A big update for ProRemote, although it is still $99.99. Here's what's new:

* NEW * Remote mouse and keyboard support! Now you can access any part of your computer remotely from within ProRemote. You can even see where the mouse is without being in front of your display.

* NEW * Raw controls view, access all the low-level Mackie Controls including a new Jog Wheel.

• Additional text display at top of screen for Mackie Control users.
• Major performance improvements, more responsive, faster rotation, etc...
• Some new retina display graphics and new button graphics (still more to come in the future).
• Lots of internal bug fixes and enhancements we hope you won't notice. We reimplemented some key features.
• Server side MIDI output improvements.
• Improved memory handling.
• New application icon.
• Basic support for VoiceOver, visually impaired folks can now gain basic control of software like ProTools that has no support for screen readers by using ProRemote.

** Official support for Digital Performer added **

• FL Studio

SoundCloud app gets a nce update

Some nice new features including the record now and upload later which makes a lot of sense. Here's the whole update;

• Connect easily using your Facebook username and password
• Create a username and add a profile picture in the app (at sign up)
• Record now and upload later

Trouble with updates?

If you're not seeing the updates to iMovie and Garageband then you're not on your own. I've got the same problem and it appears that so have lots of others too. Hopefully it'll get sorted soon, but currently no word on what the problem is.

Garageband updates with pasting from the 'clipboard'

Garageband gets a significant update with what looks like pasteboard support rather than Sonoma's audio paste. However, I've not tried it as yet so I can't be absolutely sure.

Even so, it is a big step in the right direction from Apple.

A new app that's got a very brief description but is free, so could be worth a try out.

Improvise, compose, and conduct! Make melodies, arrange them, even change their rhythms. Tilt your iPhone to change the tempo and key! Share your melodies, too, as MIDI files -- that you import into GarageBand.

MIDI Drums is now free

I don't know much about this controller app, but it is now free if you want to give it a go.

Gliss now $1.99

If you missed Gliss being free earlier then it is now only $1.99 in the app store which is a good price in my view.

Thanks to Tom for pointing this app, or apps out to me the other day. I've been looking for something that simulates the Arduino on iOS for a while, and now there are two apps. One for the iPhone, and the 'x2' for the iPad.

I'm going to try out the iPhone one to see what that's like and get back to you on it.

iPad Creative reviews NodeBeat

NodeBeat gets a favourable review at iPad Creative. No reason why it shouldn't I like this app a lot both on the iPhone and iPad although I think I probably prefer the iPad version all in all.

June the 6th has lots to look forward to, but what do you want?

So apparently Steve Jobs will make at least an appearance at the WWDC keynote, and Apple will be talking about Lion, iOS5, and the much rumoured 'iCloud'. All sounds good so far, I'm betting there won't be an iPhone 5 announcement, or maybe there'll be an iPhone 4S to mention at the end.

But what are you waiting for? Any devs hoping for something special to be announced?

Great to know that an excellent app like Gliss is being demoed at NIME tomorrow. I know a few people who are at NIME this year and I hope that the demo goes down really well.
