QOTD: Which app has made the biggest difference to your music making so far?
Which app really helped you turn the corner or made the biggest impact on your music making, mobile or otherwise, and why? What was it about the app, its UI, its workflow, the sound design, what really helped? I'd love to know.
That would have to be Noise.io. It was the first ios music creation app that got me hooked. Not much to say about it now since it was abandoned … kinda wish Amidio had stuck with it. From Noise.io then Beatmaker … it's been quite a ride since :). My problem now is that I have too many choices and I seem to just go from one app to another … playing with them but never mastering any. I need to just pick an app and learn it inside out. I'm thinking that I may do that with Caustic 3 and lay low with all the other fun sound makers for a while … just to prove to myself that I can master an app :)
NanoStudio. It is responsible for saving me from a 12 year hiatus from music. It is so much easier to use than my PC DAW (Sonar), that I use NanoStudio exclusively. I can integrate all of the other apps that I like into the NanoStudio workflow, and confidence is high that Nanostudio 2 will be even better. I highly recommend NanoStudio to any musicians on iOS, especially for electronic music. Slam-Cut

If I have to name only one, it's thumbjam. I mean jamming over a scale wasn't easy and precise when it wasn't published, then it changed things.
