So here's a sneak peek at the app that's 'powered by Ellatron'. Which is an interesting idea. I wonder if there are any other apps that are considering licencing their audio engines, or indeed if there are any already in existence?

Apple bring iPhone OS to other devices?

Thanks to the guys at Intermorphic for tweeting this article last night.

It'll be really interesting to see what this brings. I guess we'll have to wait quite a while before we see anything though.

Reverb 1.1.5 removes ioLibrary support

I hadn't realised that this update took out ioLibrary from Reverb. Another one bites the dust as they say! I think I need to write a post on which app is supporting which copy / paste solutions. I'll try and do that later.

Revisiting Instant Beat

I'd forgotten how good this app was. Instant beat was the first app from Instant Binary who also made Toro Mini. I'm hoping this will get the Sonoma paste treatment and Intua's pasteboard too.

My Sound is Mobile track made

I made this track mostly using BassLine 2.0 but added a drum track from DopplerPad and a little vocal thing from Vox3000. Apologies for it being so long. Don't feel like you have to listen to the whole thing!

Omni Live

Omni Live is a remote control app to be used with Omnisphere, a virtual instrument from Spectrasonics.

Omni Live is an application designed to turn an iPhone (or iPod Touch) into a simple, wireless remote control of Omnisphere’s “Live Mode” page via the touch-screen interface on the small, portable devices. Since Omnisphere’s Live Mode already allows multiple sound selection, the iPhone’s multi-touch display makes a useful control surface - especially on the stage.

Having remote control of the Live Mode page allows a player to sit remotely from their computer, at their MIDI’ed piano, or across the room at a MIDI controller and instantly choose a patch or combination of patches in the Live Mode page simply by touching the patch names on the iPhone display. The patch names are sent from Omnisphere wirelessly back to the iPhone.

Setup is very simple, when Omnisphere is running on the computer and the iPhone is connected to the same wireless network, launching the “Omni Live” App on the iPhone will find the host computer and allow wireless control of sound selection in Omnisphere’s Live Mode page. When sounds are selected in Omnisphere, the iPhone automatically gets updated wirelessly.

The “Omni Live” iPhone remote control app currently works with Omnisphere 1.2 or newer on Mac OSX systems

Ellatron 1.5 has arrived in the app store. I'm still totally intrigued to find out about what their 2 secret projects are all about. I hope they're music related.
