Vox Wooah for iPhone arrives
This looks interesting ...
"Vox Wooah" is the truly unique app, it is one of the most powerful vocal processing tools with Csound core for iPhone.
The app transposes the input pitch by desired interval and ads it to the original voice.
Unlike many other vocoders and harmonisers, using which you have no access to precise settings and no control over the interval change across singing, "Vox Wooah" offers you both!
It feels as if you were holding the second singing yourself in your hand.
- This software gives you the possibility to adapt it to your own voice, adjust the analysis parameters like FFT size, window size and type, overlap.
- You can choose to preserve formants as well! With the right parameters + formant preservation your transposed voice will sound not as a funny pitch shifted joke, but as truly yours.
- You can change the pitch shifted interval on flight with just tapping the corresponding button. It is very well possible to rehearse the sequence of tapping couple of times and turn your deceive into a real back vocalist.
- One of the most intelligent implementations of the program is that you can approach 11 macro tonal scales. This means - you can divide the octave not just in twelve equal steps (standard piano tuning), but into any amount of those from two to twelve. This is truly fantastic possibility for approaching, so called, world music.
- The mix of the transposed voice is controlled with internal gyroscope, simply said, it is attached to the motion of your hand in the air.
- The app features fantastic layout and is made to be comfortable + friendly tool for a contemporary singer.
Works with iPhone 4s and higher, and it's free.

Pocket Talkbox for iPhone arrives
Not sure what to make of this. Here's the description:
Turn your phone into a musical instrument from the future! Make the synth 'talk' just by holding the speaker to your mouth while you play. Shape the sound with your mouth!
Now you can sound like Daft Punk, Stevie Wonder, Frampton and Zapp! The interface is simple enough for anyone to pick up and play, and intuitive enough for a true funk master to get down on. Remember, all musical instruments take some practice. Have fun!
*Note- this app is available for iPad, but for playability, it is recommended for the iPhone.

VL-5 & PT-30 Micro Jam - Week 11 - Royalty Free Electonica
Video description:
This track was created using a Casio VL-5 and a Casio PT-30, both distorted to hell! The distortion on the drum pattern was created by running its audio signal through the mic amplifier on a Prinzsound TR-5 cassette player, so called because it contains 5 transistors fact fans! The distortion on the VL-5 was created by running it into the mic inputs on my Inkel MX880E mixer. The VL-5 is not much bigger than a VL-1 but is unfortunately missing its predecessors synth function, but on the plus side its 4 note polyphonic. Nice.
Right, so here's the idea. Trying to write, upload and give away a fresh piece of music on a roughly weekly basis. Will i be able to keep it up? Will i run out of ideas? Can i be bothered? How shoddy will they be? Does anybody care? God knows. But that's the point.
Basically the idea is to flex my musical muscles a bit. I have collected quite a bit of gear over the years and not much of it is getting used as much as i'd like, so this is my attempt to justify all those purchases whilst practising improving and getting ideas down fast as an antidote to procrastination. "Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." as Picasso once said.
Royalty free for you to use for whatever under the creative commons license. Just rip the audio out of the video for now, i'll get these tracks uploaded to a dropbox account when i get my act together. Let me know if you use it, i'd be stoked.
bent.FM LITE arrives
bent.FM LITE is a model of a circuit-bent synthesizer. bentFM allows the user to tweak classic circuit bending modifications like fine and octave-decimated clock bends, and experiment with more esoteric bends. Circuit-bent distortions and algorithmic sequences can be created by (im)proper connections on the bend matrix. Reroute digital serial information through the base chip set (a numerically controlled oscillator) and extra logic gates (NAND and XOR, binary counters), and experience architecture-level bit crushing. For anyone interested in circuit bending, glitch sounds, industrial music, and post-procedural art.
This app is free.

Neural for iPad arrives
Neural is a simple, elegant interface for Ableton Live 8/9 that allows you to launch clips and more.
Neural's 8 track by 16 scene interface allows you to launch and stop clips, toggle clip looping, launch scenes, and mute/solo/arm tracks. Live's on-screen red box shows which clips you are controlling, and you can drag with two fingers to select which group of clips you'd like to control.
The red box will also preview which clip or scene you are about to launch, so you can drag to your clip or scene and release to fire without taking your eyes off of Live's interface.
Neural can also be used without looking at Live. Clip, track, and scene names and colors are automatically downloaded and will update in realtime. There are also on-screen indicators showing you which clips are playing, clip looping status, and mute/solo/arm status for tracks.
Neural uses network MIDI, so setup is simple. No OSC setup or IP addresses are required. Network MIDI is already native to Mac and can be installed for Windows.
Neural for iPad is priced at $9.99.
