I've tried the new devices TT/Retronyms has out, and they're pretty sweet. BoomRoom & DeadBeat are pretty fun to work on, but DeadBeat can be tricky to work with, and fun at the same time if you're trying to record the effect.
I know VacationLazy has been messing around with it quite a bit and loving it, too.
