The Makey Makey forums said that if you put a USB hub in the middle the iPad would work with the Makey Makey, but I can't get it to work. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong please let me know.
I can't say for sure as I don't have a makey makey :( butu I would assume if they said adding a USB hub would work, then its because it needs extra power. Is the USB hub you had powered?

^ This. My instinct tells me that it's a powered hub that isn't getting the 5v it wants.
USB hub issues are almost always due to a powered hub not getting the juice it wants. Does Makey Makey work without the hub in the middle?
