On an related note, I have been in contact with Mr. Rudess from time to time but have not received any response to the questions I sent to him.
Understandably, he's very busy now touring in Europe and promoting their new album and new drummer. Hopefully later this year, I'll be able to wrangle him and get some answers to the questions everyone submitted.
