i'm not even a huge monotron fan, but I am a fan of their other stuff. For a big fat corporation, korg has been really agile, risk-taking, and forward thinking with their products. It's hard to imagine stuff like the kaossilator, microsampler, monotron, and monotribe all coming out of a giant corporation, but somehow, someone in that company has a great feel for the times.
It's hard to imagine that just a few years ago the idea of a high quality, innovative and affordable synthesizer in your pocket like the kaossilator seemed totally alien...

The Monotron is (or at least will be) an iconic design.
