The mini USB loading feature is what sets this apart from everything else. Instant buy.

Sweet. Just remember to save that 1gb of storage for all those wonderful samples.

Save your free $20 "jam bucks" for the 15 yr promo and buy this thing. If you areplanning on buying the app might think about buying the irig since it comes with sample tank.

Well well well, I guess this makes Apple's expanded CCK compatibility a tad moot if you don't already have one.

So this works as a USB interface? I can plug in an apogee one into this thing?

I think the USB port is only for charging but I'd love to be wrong. If the CCK in iOS5 is iPhone 4 only then this (and Yamaha's) are good hardware CoreMIDI options for my 3GS.

Sorry, didn't mean 'loading' but 'charging' via USB. Lost in translation...

Why do these companies (including Apple) continue to offer slick-looking, but actually clunky dongles that stick out several inches from the iPad/iPod dock? Even the CCK, with another big USB plug stuck in it, makes me nervous that I'm going to end up with damage to the dock connector. I think a much better design would be a small dock connector (like the charger connection) with flexible wire to a USB/everything-else box. Maybe it doesn't look as slick, but it would be far more practical.

It isn’t even out yet – I called after pre-ordering and was told they don’t expect to be shipping until the end of September. It might be useful to make this information known to people when promoting products which aren’t currently available, and in this case won’t be for some time.
