I was catching up on reading over the weekend and I went back over this article again. I keep going back to Android to see if things are going to change, but it is never enough to make me want to commit more money for another Android device.
I'd love to be surprised and suddenly find that Android was going to make huge leaps forward in mobile music making, but so far it hasn't happened. I'm hoping it does though.

Sadly, as long as there is latency issues on Android it won't be considered seriously by most devs. Also the fact that nobody uses the same connectors on those phones makes it harder to integrate with other hardware.
Also, there aren't many non-phones Android devices (or is there any besides the Samsung Galaxy mp3 players and tablets?). There are many people like me don't want to buy a phone just to be able to fiddle with Android. Apple seemed to have understood this market when they released the ipod touch.
That said, fortunately there are some great music apps for Android.
