Bulk business buyng for iOS arrives

I've been hearing about this bulk buying stuff for iOS apps, but I can't see a use for it in mobile music terms, unless it helps you buy apps for your whole orchestra.

Did I miss something?

This should be merely a new buying option to enable business to purchase apps in volume in an easier way (they will get a list of redemption code).

One thing which is more interesting is Apple are enabling developers to develop "custom B2B" apps for these enterprises. (From Apple developer website: Custom B2B apps are built just for you by third-party developers and business partners to address a specific business process, integrate with a unique back-office environment, or deliver a custom interface for your users. Using the Volume Purchase Program, you can securely and privately purchase custom B2B apps for iPhone and iPad that make your business even more effective.)

However I agree with you that both might not be related to mobile music much. Which bands or orchestras on earth will ever need apps with customed-logo or office intranet environment anyway?

I work at a university and I was curious how they would handle the Lion update, this appears to remedy the situation. I think it’s an exciting development - it gets iOS hardware deeper into learning environments. Imagine learning music production or music theory on an iPad! In school!

Good thoughts, thanks to both of you.

I guess for music app developers the education market is one where more developers could sell volume music apps.
