Whilst SoundCloud is a great resource for sharing music and sounds it does make me wonder if we need as many groups as we have so far. It seems like every app has a SoundCloud group and there are at least three, if not more, generic groups for mobile/handheld audio creation including the Palm Sounds group.
So do we need this many, or does it just make it harder to find things on SoundCould groups?
I'd be really happy to hear other views on this.

Well....my view is:
The only reason I make music is for others to hear it.
Soundcloud only gives me 1 group upload per song with my basic account. I am not at the point in my process that the more premium accounts are logical.
I really want to put my songs into a group but it almost has the feeling like I am giving away my,"1 chance" at sharing with the way they have it now. I want to share as much as possible and that is what soundcloud is about right. Groups are ways to distribute, your personal page is a way for others to discover. Right now the experience(for basic users) is all about discovery. Well I am a basic user but I want more then to just consume. I am a creator. I want to distribute.
I don't think group count would be that much of a concern if group sharing was just deducted from your total upload time. If soundcloud just considered upload time in your page,Joe's page,or group C's page. If I just made 1 song and wanted to share it with all my favorite groups I would have that option. (as long as I don't pass my total upload time).
That's just my view. I would like to see more group consolidation. (that way I don't pass up a smaller group for one that see's more visitors, since I only have my "one shot" at group shareing")
I would also like to have my sharing limits be a part of my total upload time(that way I can support "local interest" groups, like blogs I follow, and still post to "major groups") I know all this could be resolved with premium accounts but there are a few of us that are in between steps. We create but we are also used to unlimited sharing since twitter and Facebook have become integrated into our lives. It becomes a hard pill to swallow when being told you can only let one person have a copy......I'm not used to that:).
I've been given mass sharing opportunity from social networks to having soundcloud make me 'covet' my collection! That's all for now.
