We still hold out some hope for the Synthi ... Any news Chris?
Quite a while ago Chris Carter confirmed that the EMS Synthi was still in development, but that was back in October 2010, so who knows if it will make it out now.
Still, something to look forward to in the (possibly very distant) future (maybe).
You also know that a man called Derek Revell is making these beautiful instruments once again?
I think a virtual VCS3 is a nice idea (especially as synthi's are going for silly money at the moment- £6000++). But the interface on that one is all wrong. The interface needs an overhaul to make it work with touch interfaces- otherwise, just like every other virtual clone, it's a gimmick. I mean "knobs" on a touch screen? Come on! (yes I know what you'll all going to say....!)
Yes, but you see that's it. EMS are still going, and they certainly won't allow anyone to release this unless a big royalty is being paid to Robin Wood. You mark my words, if this does ever get released, it will cost a lot of money! It's probably the sole reason that this software hasn't seen the light of day yet.
BTW, if you really do want something like this synthi in compact form, I can't recommend the Nord Micromodular more highly. I've got two of these. They're brilliant- and I don't mean that lightly! :)

You do know that a plugin already exists?

The plugin is old and made with Synthedit... and costs ridiculous price for a creation made with it.
Vst users got alot of laught out of this few years ago.

@Tom
There's also Cynthia which is free (but also Synthedit) http://ninecows.dk/cynthia/
Cheers johnny.
I've probably never come across that one because I don't have a PC (well I do, but it's not used for music).
I do prefer real hardware though- if it's analogue. It's just the cost which holds me back. Wives and synthesisers don't mix!! ;)

Who doesn't? :D
I use virtual stuff just because I can't afford all of it (and even if I could afford it, I probably wouldn't have enough space lol)
iLpd doesn't :)
