We've talked about iCloud before, but now as we approach the 12th I wondered if any developers wanted to share in advance how they plan to make use of iCloud, and if any users wanted to share what they hope that iCloud will bring to mobile music?
Well, iOS5 brings an API to store documents in iCloud. So hopefully I expect my Garageband's arrangements to instantly be available on my Mac when I get home. Fingers crossed.
Or to be able to open in across applications. If this works more like a foldering system.
I will be doing a lot more save as work so I have versioning in my workflow.
Printing with regular printers will be less of a hassle.
Do be able to live and on the fly be able to tranfer files from ipad to iphone.
It is hard from what apple is talking about the icloud being it sounds like they want it to do more than just be a streaming big hard disk. So rhere might be OS capablilites built in the servers there that are not on the phone.
The possiblilyt of hosted app/HTML5 applications using the icloud hard drive to store shared projects. Giving you ablility to saving a project from a app and open it in a more robust HTML5 application that uses the file. Example- You might use a DAW or midi type program on you phone and then, save it to icloud and then open it in a HTML5 enviroment to do other things not allowed in the regular ios enviroment.
The biggest thing in my opinion is if you select to backup your iDevice to iCloud. Many music apps store mixdowns to the documents/file-sharing directory. This will quickly eat up your free 5GB of storage. Recommend heavy music app users do not select "Backup iPad to iCloud."
this would also be the end of endless clicking around from app to app, and the app you want to use next doesnt support the way you copy and then you forget want you wanted to do...

if could get all my audio in & out of itunes on the device to and from the apps, i would be fine! no need for dropbox!
and all samples would life in itunes, isnt that something?!!
