MobileCrunch reports that Windows Phone 7 will be launched on the 11th of October. I'm still highly skeptical about what if anything Windows Phone 7 will bring to mobile music. Having said that, I was completely wrong about the potential in the blackberry tablet, so I think I might have to be more careful this time around.
I haven't heard of any developers who are thinking about music software for WP7, but if there are I'd love to hear from you.

Silverlight can do music production apps... its just a question of if any devs will bite. iPod touches are way more common than any WinPhone 7 device... and as far as I can tell there are only a small fraction of devs working on Android-based music apps (closer analog to WinPhone 7 than iOS in terms of marketshare and market-type).
Maybe if WinPhone came out sooner, and/or maybe if it wasn't so radically different than the last Windows Mobile platform there would be a chance of more apps.
I honestly don't think it will be a very good mobile music production platform. It may still have a market, but I doubt it will be a place for creative-types to perform on.

Musicians who needs computers not gadgets? As fun as IOS music apps can be, there's still nothing remotely comparable to Cubase, Ableton Live or even Fruityloops.
I don't think there will be much mobile music love for WP7, but I'll keep an eye out for anything.
