More on Android fragmentation

An anonymous commenter put in this link to the original Tweetdeck blog post about their Android development.

There's a couple of very interesting charts on Android.

Some serious fragmentation there but its still a great platform.

Just wish they would sort out the issues that are stopping any serious music apps being released.

OK, after seeing this (i never thought it is THAT bad!!!) i know: Android is dead. It's so dead it already stinks. We won't get at least 5% of the useful music apps as on the iOS platform. Never ever.

98.5% of the Android TweetDeck beta testers from which that data was collected are using one of 5 official Android 2.x builds. 85 of the other versions of Android are being used by 1 to 3 users.

And still TweetDeck managed to get their app through open beta testing with 37,000 users in a month and a half.

Android must be doomed!
