CCK + $15 USB MIDI cable works perfectly as well. btw. How to compare different interfaces? :) they do exactly the same
I'm with giku on this one.
I'm not buying the notion that the iRig offers meaningfully lower latency than the CCK and a USB>MIDI cable. If you go with off-brand stuff, the adapter AND the cable can be had for $15, or less.
For me it's not worth paying 4x for MIDI thru and the privilege of charging my iPad while I'm using it (the thing has great battery life anyway).
