Cheers for the comments about my setup. The mic is a Sony ECM-MS907. I got in to music making through an unusual route. Years ago I started out just making field recordings with a portable minidisc recorder and this mic, going to woods, lakes or the coast and recording long tracks of the sounds around me to listen to at home. Messing about with the minidisc recorder I found I could split tracks into tiny bits, rearrange the bits, make the bits into one track again and then loop it endlessly. I still can't really playing any instruments, but it's fun recording and messing about with sounds! Tim (TMothy73)
Hi Andrew, no I've not put anything on the Palmsounds Soundcloud page yet, as I've not done anything entirely on a mobile device, but I would like to eventually. Mostly it all ends up in Ableton. (Well mostly I never finish anything...) I got this track on Soundcloud: http://soundcloud.com/tmothy73/tiffin-lava-320 This is more recent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMFYOUEZq3s This is real old: http://www.myspace.com/tmothytmothy Freesound Project: http://www.freesound.org/usersViewSingle.php?id=245459
Mouse is next to the sampler, keyboard is in the first picture, but out of shot in the second picture (I don't use it much in Ableton)
After a while I've come to the conclusion that at the base any set up is flawed and you just try to make the least impossible one. But its never really finished
Thanks for posting this. It looks DISTURBINGLY like mine. I mainly use the iPad for music so I'm kinda interested how you've integrated the touch or iPhone into your rig...

that's a nice setup... Studio setups so often look like the helm of a starship.
This looks more like sitting down to write.
Nice setup dude!
great idea in a small area!
What is that mic in the middle of the top shelf?

@TMothy73 That's awesome. I wish I'd had the presence of mind to do that with my minidisc recorder.
Mind you I can still probably do something with Sampletoy, but it won't be the same, for sure.
Do you have any tunes in the SoundCloud page?
Thanks, Tim, for IDing the mic.
yeah nice looking but..
how does he access his laptop?
how does he type? mouse around?
flawed set up i'm afraid
