Saw this over at the Gadgeteer and I don't think I've seen this mic for the iPhone before. It looks like it might be worthwhile and certainly isn't going to take up much space in your bag.

The problem is that, with this kind of mic, you can't plug anything to monitor the output ...
Check out the "istreamer." It puts the audio out through the dock
It like the Thumbtack mic, which I had bought to use with Wivi Band breath controller,.. but when its plugged in the audio out is cut off, and there's no way to plug speakers, and it doesn't work with other kind of recorders, ... so yeah, pretty much useless.
