The direct mode in Eye-Fi does look really useful, and not just for cameras but lots of other (older) devices could make use of it too.

It would be neat if I could use this sort of thing to sync the SD card in my MPC1000 with apps on my iPad!
...maybe not for a while yet, clever stuff though.
