Thoughts on UI design from Auteureist
I have to say that the UI for Auteureist is one of the things that does put me off using it although I think that the functionality is moving in the right direction, so it is good to hear that the developer is thinking about it and accepts that it needs to change.
So where is this PocketLoops keyboard?
As iOS Musician points out in this comment, the Gear4 site doesn't even have this hardware listed at all. So what's going on with it?

I think they're out in Japan, but don't seem to be in the UK at all. Anyone have any news on these?

Just last year we looked at mobile music 'B'. Not a huge amount has changed really, we still love Bhajis. Of course we've had BM2 since then, but also BeatStudio too, and I'm sure there are others.

Back on the 2nd of May in 2009 there was a lot going on with Amidio. I was talking about their Star Melody app, plus there was a video of it (not sure it still works), and an update to their Star Guitar app too.
There was also a hint that the the YUDO multitrack app was on the way, of course now it hasn't seen a real update in ages but back then rectools08 was going to be amazing.

What's coming in NanoStudio 1.2
Some amazing stuff coming in version 1.2 of this excellent app. Here's what's made it so far:
- In-app purchase to upgrade 6 to 16 instrument tracks
- Configurable instruments on each track (TRG or Eden), mixer has its own track
- Up to 4 sequencer tracks per instrument (up to 64 sequencer tracks in total)
- Retina display support for iPod/iPhone 4
- Supports launching and purchasing other audio copy/paste apps via the Sonoma compatible apps list
- Sequencer track mute/solo, quantize down to 1/64, quantize event length and end as well as start, view grid without snapping
- Configurable mixer with volume/pan automation and up to 3 insert effects per bus (input, send or output)
- New effects include compressor, 3 band parametric EQ and Lo-Fi (bitcrush/decimate) setting added to Waveshaper
- Offline processing of samples through an effects chain using the sample editor (with undo)
- Better mixer VU meters and accurate clip detection algorithm for final output stage
- Better 'picker' for choosing controller events in the pattern editor, note events can now be seen when editing controllers
- Eden loads samples ahead of time, so preset changes are ready when they're needed
- Increased instrument polyphony
- Tempo/time sig available from main menu
- New 'click only during record' setting
- Tidied up UI

Is Microsoft making porting from iOS to Windows Phone 7 easier?
Is MS trying to tempt iOS developers over to their Windows Phone 7 platform? I'd appreciate any developers tell me what they think of this.

This time last year we started to celebrate Palm Sounds 4th birthday. Last year we had the mobile music alphabet, which hasn't changed too much since then really, althought maybe I'd add in AmpKit and Amplitube as well.

2009 was an interesting time as iOS was really getting going, and on the 1st Amidio launched Noise.IO LE, and if that wasn't enough they were talking about Hexatone and Keasis. Obviously we all know what Hexatone is all about, but did Keasis never came about did it?
There was also the possibility of new apps from YUDO (there's a name from the past), one of which was eventually 8bitone, but their rectools line never really made it sadly.

Here's May upon us already. May is the month in which Palm Sounds turns 5 years old, so for the whole of the month we'll be celebrating in a variety of ways. If that wasn't enough I'll be taking a look back at the last few years to see how things have changed in the world of mobile music.
