This was in the comments this morning, so I don't know for an absolute fact that it's correct, but if it is it would be great.

What happened to this? I posted this on from Matrixsynth which had more detail. Anyone know if it's in the pipeline as yet?

If there is to be an iPad Mini then what will it mean?

There's lots of rumours about an Apple event on the 23rd to announce an iPad Mini, but still I can't really see how it fits in, or where it fits in. It doesn't make sense to me. Not to say that I couldn't be wrong, and not to say that it isn't just a reaction to all the other tablets of about the same size that everyone suggests an iPad Mini might be.

But if it does come out I can't see how it will distinguish itself or differentiate itself at all.

Maybe Apple will pull something amazing out of the bag. They haven't for a while, but it is possible, I suppose.

Rumour: iPhone 5 to be announced next month

I've just read this so I thought I'd share it, it's from Wired's Gadgetlab, and it sounds quite convincing, but of course, you never know until it happens.

As always we'll just have to wait and see.

The old iPad Mini rumour surfaces again!

I've been seeing more of the old iPad Mini rumours coming around again. The most recent are that Apple is planning for 7.85-Inch 'iPad Mini' with IGZO display later this year.

Personally, I'm still skeptical, but you never can tell. What do you think?

Rumours of Google's new tablet ...

I'm hearing rumours about Google's tablet coming just a day in advance of their IO conference:

It's a 7-inch device with an optimized Tegra 3 chip inside and it's going to be the first device to run Jelly Bean, the new version of Android, that, among other notable features, will see Google manage device updates. The device will be priced at $US199 and is aimed as a direct competitor to Amazon's Kindle Fire."

Given the proximity to the IO conference I think it might be worth holding off on any tablet purchases for a few days.

Black Friday, possible Apple deals

Apparently these are the deals Apple may be offering on Friday, in case you're in the market for an iThing:

Deals include an $101 discount on the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac, a $41 discount for low-end iPad 2s, a $61 discount on high-end iPad 2s, and $11 off the iPad Nano. Apple’s Black Friday sale only lasts for the one day, and even with the measly discounts I expect their inventory to go fast. That’s not to say the Apple store should be your first stop of the day, but don’t save it for last, that’s for sure.

We're back to that rumour about an iPad mini

We all love a good rumour, but this one seems a bit tired now. Of course there's no telling what Apple will actually do, but I still feel that this one isn't a real runner.

iPhone 5 in 9 months?

Another good rumour, this time from Brighthand that the iPhone 5 will in fact arrive in 9 months.

Rumours that Amazon may buy Palm from HP

Another rumour of Amazon looking at HP's Palm webOS as a potential next OS for it's next tablet / eReader? Sounds a bit strange, but I guess they could go to webOS from Android.

iOS5 to arrive by 10th of October?

AppleInsider has this news of the possible arrival date for iOS5 being tied in with a couple of events Twitter has scheduled for developers.

Apple media event rumour

Interesting rumours of an Apple media event in early September. The dates seem to be around the 7th or 8th which is consistent with previous years. So if it is for real what might we expect? iPhone 5? iPad Pro? New iPods? Or something completely new?

More rumours of an Amazon Android tablet

A variety of sites are reporting rumours of a possible 9' Android tablet from Amazon around September / October. This follows a recent cut in the cost of Amazon's 3G Kindle.

Personally I'd like to see a good solid tablet from Amazon with a low price point. I'd certainly be tempted.

Sampletank coming from IKM?

An enormous thank you to Mickaël for pointing out this image on the iKlip Mini page at IKM's site. If you look closely at the app in the image it says 'sampletank' at the top.

So is that what's up next from IKM?

Can we expect an iPad HD and Pro grade apps?

A couple of sites have run this rumour, which does sound great. Here's what MacRumors says:

Our sources are saying that not only will there be a newly designed iPhone coming in the fall, but there is going to be a new entry into the iPad family as well. As hard as it might be to believe, the new tablet is said to sport a double resolution screen (2048 x 1536), and will be dubbed the "iPad HD." The idea behind the product is apparently that it will be a "pro" device aimed at a higher end market - folks who work in video and photo production possibly - and will be introduced alongside something like an iPad version of Final Cut or Aperture. This product is specifically said to not be the iPad 3, rather a complimentary piece of the iPad 2 line. Think MacBook and MacBook Pro.

I can get the whole iPad / iPad Pro idea, but instead of Aperture or FCP I'd like to see Logic. Now that would shake things up a bit!

iOS 5 to be a major revamp?

A number of the bigger mac focused blogs are claiming that iOS5 will be a major revamp of the OS with a number of new cloud based services included but it won't announced until the autumn of this year.

It sounds good to me and I know that Ed at Audio Silver Lining will be pleased about this if it comes about.
