A few years back, some guy in Japan built a modular out of lunchboxes (a 'real' synth- not a noise box, which some ahem... ashley... cough..cough people claim are 'synths' ;) ) . The idea being that each box contained a synth module of some kind.
There's are really good thread on electro-music.com outlining some very simple synth circuits that could be made and the daisychained into a 'lunchbox synth'

But a Monotron DUO? And just in time for Xmas? Hooray! :D
My self restraint is sapping away. I really like the look of both of these and the possibility that the Duo might be hackable for midi-in without spending more than the cost of the synth itself (unlike the current monotron). Biggest desirable feature for me is the scales on the Duo.
Korg, please create webpage called "why is it different to the one you already have" so I can point my wife to it when she asks :)

A year or so later....
Gakken announces the SX150 mk2, then Korg releases the Monotron Duo....
Coincidence?
Roll on Monotribe Mk2!! 8)
The Monotron Delay is even better (for noise artists ;) )
I want a modular monotron!
But seriously, it would be nice to have all these features in a device that we can build over time.
