After my post yesterday about audio in for the iPhone / iPod Touch, can anyone help formal with this?
I don't know if this works with the 1st gen iphone since it has the recessed audio jack. Can anybody confirm or deny if this will work with this model?
Please comment in on this post if you know the answer.
You've just got to find a 3.5mm 4 pole jack that's slim enough. The ones from Maplin are too fat but shop around and I'm sure you'll find one suitable.
I just snagged another "apple" headset/mic yesterday, so if nobody has had luck with the other mods i'll hack up my headset and see what I can come up with. It will be so nice to record directly into beatmaker!

@formal sounds like a good plan. There's some good tips in this hack-a-day post: http://hackaday.com/2009/05/24/soldering-headphone-wire/
Excellent, thanks for the link it'll come in handy. I haven't soldered in a long while. I need some practice :)
