A synth controlled by pitch detection in the sound input sure would be great. They'd probably be the first in IOS to do this as I don't know any apps that does it.

Create your band with your voice! • Audio recording through either built-in microphone or external input (via iRig or Similar.) Record and layer live performances! • MIDI editor to edit performance. Get it perfect! • Mixing functionality, including panning! • Ability to bounce mixes and re-import, hence allowing unlimited tracks! • MIDI Exporting! • Line-in supported! • Tempo track with optional click. • Ability to export mixes in various formats to email.

Exciting guess - I'd buy that in a second if it tracked well.
I occasionally pester Korg about enabling external input CV tracking on the iMS-20, but I've had no luck getting a response.

Sonuus makes great products when it comes to pitch/velocity to CV/MIDI
notesynth is controlled by sound input ,
and I think songcatcher could convert soundinput too
Voiceband does this, although its only got a few synth sounds.
I always watch that I2M video where the guitar is running through the iMS-20. I think it's Sonuus that makes it.
It's a great guitar to midi device that tracks well and works through the CCK into apps like iMS-20. Go check out the YT clip if you'd like.
Just type guitar iMS-20 into YT and it should be the first vid you see.
Imagine with all the virtual midi stuff going on now that adding this to your setup could produce some pretty interesting stuff.
I think the last time I checked it was under $100 too!
