iOS5, what's going to break?

It's fair to say that with every release of iOS so far (including the ones where it wasn't iOS), a bunch of apps got broken at least for a while anyway.

So any predictions about apps or services that will break with iOS5? Anything you couldn't live without until it got fixed?

Which apps won't be updated for IOS5? Can't wait to see that.

Soon I will need to buy other devices just to keep them on IOS3 and IOS4 if I ever want to use some apps made for them.

Its such a great thing that Apple abandons its API's after one year. Its a feature!, it keeps things fresh... duh..

@lala

This has nothing to do with backups.

I make frequent backup, I even still have every older versions of all my apps.

But the thing is, too often they simply stop working in newer versions of IOS. Because Apple has made changes to their OS and API's and does not believe in legacy support, tons of apps does not work in newer version of IOS, unless everyone updates their apps, which never happens.

So I need also need a backup of IOS entirely, meaning having multiple devices with different versions, just to be sure I can use an app from 1-2 years ago.

I have a collection of about 50 apps that are not working in IOS4, I expect that number to double for IOS5.

Have an post or forum thread about which apps go belly up, I've got a few apps on the newest version of ios 4 which haven't been updated for a while which are still fine. I keep backups of the apps I use most as I'm still on the first gen ipad, should of kept a few copies of the os too, but had limited hd space.

I'll wait as I do most os updates, just incase, as my ipad is running fine atm. Might even keep this ipad on this version and get the next one for the new stuff.

"it just works"

Yes it just works, except for Apple not being able to maintain legacy apps.
