Which company will offer custom tablets first. A tablet for the general public, one that is good for business, school work, and general web browsing. A tablet with camera, pressure sensitivity and stylus for artist. A tablet with a powerful CPU and Ram for the music maker. Is it just a matter of time?

:D

Will?.. don't you mean "has"? There has been many models of "specialized" tablets available. Here's some examples.

For music : Jazzmutant Lemur (sadly they went bankrupt recently, Daft Punk are fans of their products)

For drawing/sketching : Wacom Cintiq

For doctors : Motion Computing C5v/F5v (with a handle! hehe)

For general businesses/cash registers/POS : Squirrel

For the army and people who needs rugged tools : Panasonic Toughbook tablets

For people who really really want an OSX tablet : Axiotron Modbook (since 2004)

For people who don't want to spend 1000$ and more on a tablet : Android and IOS :D

Just because Apple made one tablet doesn't mean there wasn't any before... but they are good to elevate the general public's awareness when it comes to technology availability.
