Far too long a blog to say anything of any use and not to even have equipment set up properly, the only point of intrest was that it fell out and didn't fit properly, but then we know that and so do alesis hence the adapter!

Got my iO Dock in today , works flawlessly midi'd up to my MPC as a sound module, sounds good too. Strangely one app I can't get any sound from with it is the Akai Synthstation app, I thought Akai and Alesis were the same company under Numark?

@giku from the video the cables are going into the iodock and it's a digital connection between the ipad2 to the iodock, so i think it does.

it looks pretty good, but by the time i lug this and my ipad around, my setup won't be so mobile anymore...

specs dont say anything about snr !?

The ipad socket has analog pins as well (look at the dock, there is minijack input). They say nothing about converters and snr, so I guess it doesn't have own HQ DAC :/. Forget about studio quality then ..

Video was far too long, and never place a large monitor in the frame that makes everything else around it look dark!

But never mind all that. I can't wait to try this thing out myself. I'm not really bothered about 'studio quality'. I can use a PC for that. :)

@giku that is disappointing, although if I had to pick I'd probably pick quality A/D's over D/A's since I end up rendering my songs anyway. Of course, the listening/monitoring experience isn't as good...

Missed opportunity then I suppose, are the D/A from the pins any better than the headphone jack? The headphone jack on ios devices always sounded kindof harsh to me.

tubes are the ticket to good sound from the headphonejack
