Actually, the revolution was when tablets were invented over 15 years ago, the fact that they're now available for cheap and being marketed properly is just evolution.
So, what are you saying now? Introducing something revolutionary is not revolutionary? .. especially if its not enough successful to your tastes?.. hmmm...
The Jazzmutant Lemur was revolutionary, the iPad is just following.. althought with great refinement and success (I'm happy for Apple).
But you should check your numbers, while the ipad is successful and has good sales, in no way it is the "successful coup" overthrowing everyone else you are talking about, but it did make the general public realize tablets exists.

iPad 2: Are Sales Numbers Too Low To Brag About? (2011, BUSINESS INSIDER) http://www.businessinsider.com/ipad-2-sales-2011-3
During that period there as been more Windows tablets than iPads sold, mostly to medical and corporate entities (which I can understand is not a market you aware of).
Even the Kinect for XBOX has sold more units than the iPad, getting the official Guiness World Record for the “fastest-selling consumer device in history”, during the same period as the ipad, ... not bad for a "fringe group"..
I don't care if you deny this, but if you really must, then please go on.
Ashley echoed the sentiment of the pub stating it "is a revolution" and you chimed in with a typical curmudgeonly response to question the post's semantics first. I simply followed up with my own take...
But yes, I'm sure those Windows tablets in the medical industry represent more of a paradigm shift in personal computing or music making, though. And yes, outselling every other consumer tablet 20 to 1 is nothing to brag about, either. /sarcasm
This is 'a really cool app' that explains that while you are getting pain in one side of the body, the source is actually triggered from another point.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if a handful of 10" nails, a hammer and a crackpot's guide to DIY acupuncture may give the same results too! ;)
'cool' is such an overused word these days. Why can't Steve Jobs say 'sick' for a change? "this iPad is siiiickk!- really sick"! lol!
@Robert "you chimed in with a typical curmudgeonly response to question the post's semantics first."
Since understand semantics so well, how come you didn't understand that I wasn't bashing the ipad in my first post? FIY, cheap means "doesn't cost much", not "poorly made", but you assumed the later right?
"And yes, outselling every other consumer tablet 20 to 1 is nothing to brag about, either."
Because the iPad is not outselling other consumer tablets 20 to 1. In your mind maybe, but not in reality.
I didn't assume anything. Just more straw men arguments, I guess. When did I say you were bashing the iPad, or refer to your brilliant explanation of it's success? Never, that's when.
True to form, though, you conveniently neglected to respond to the "revolution" part that I actually DID refer to in my post. To an intelligent person, that which you choose to omit speaks much louder than what you choose to say.
And attempting to later make ME appear foolish by using more diversionary tactics in your reply to Tom won't change this fact. Until we meet again, have a nice day.
I did respond to your "revolution part" of your comment, but you had dismissed my arguments before even reading them.
Revolution =/= Success, whatever you say.
Television was a revolution before it was successful, just like tablets, and many other things in history.
I'm sorry you just don't it/me...
... and I don't know why I spent so much time trying to explain, it looks like you just don't want to understand, just like you probably didn't even noticed that you were the first one to throw punches, and now you want to talk about intelligence?.
See you later! (because I know you will come back with your fanboy talk).

kindof a bizarre app to feature. does anyone actually use this app? It seems like IKM's practice for developing amplitube =P
I agree...there are easily 2 dozen apps more worthy of being the iOS example for a cover story.

Wealthy clients pay for the cover spot. That's how the old economy works.

@Brian
And with IK's pricing structures, they have no problem being one of the wealthiest clients. :)
@johnnyg0
If you really want to talk about semantics, it was not a revolution 15 years ago, it was an introduction. The iPad was the revolution.
A fringe group (Win tab) wishing to overthrow the govt without success is NOT a revolution. A successful coup (iPad), however, is indeed a revolution.
@Robert
I see you really like to talk semantics with me.

I'd love to hear Steve Jobs say "Our previous iPads were really great, but this new one really is the shit!!" :D
@Robert
Just in case you don't know about this : "the shit" here refers to "the best", "awesome". Its not being used as a derogatory term.

Lol! That would really be 'the shit'!!! LOL!

The television will not be revolutionized.
