Garageband gets a significant update with what looks like pasteboard support rather than Sonoma's audio paste. However, I've not tried it as yet so I can't be absolutely sure.
Even so, it is a big step in the right direction from Apple.

... and possibly a first nail in the coffin for Audiocopy?
Most likely it is going to be compatible with audiocopy. Will know soon.

It's the General Pasteboard (Intua), and it works great! Never honestly thought I would see the day. You can also now import tracks through iTunes file sharing...
Drag over wav, aiff, etc. from your computer and add them to your GB song. Sweet!
Well I did a copy and paste into GB from iVoxel with no bother at all. Great stuff!
Intua's Pasteboard, Sonoma's Audiocopy, Amidio's IOlibrary
... why can't there just be ONE way to copy data between apps in IOS?
Why can't we just have access to the filesystem? We wouldn't need all those temporary proprietary solutions.
AudioCopy and AudioPaste support the general pasteboard in order to work with apps that support the general pasteboard only. GarageBand, if it supports the general pasteboard, will most likely work with all AudioCopy apps right out of the gate. AudioCopy and AudioPaste apps will continue to have extra features, like the copy history which allows you to keep up to 12 items on the pasteboard at the same time. I don't think it's a death sentence for AudioCopy/Paste. I think it'll just be another example of why AudioCopy/Paste is an awesome way to go.
@jg at first I read that as "Amidio's IObituary"
Funny how many of these issues were solved once upon a time with something called a filesystem. Talk about reinventing the wheel...
I don't blame apple entirely because I understand the desire to re-imagine these old computing paradigms, but it feels a little absurd sometimes. maybe iOS5?
I believe their sandboxing of apps to be in regards to security. If all apps had access to all other apps file systems, I could see it causing problems. First you'd limit the ability to delete any files in someone else's app. Then the ability to put files into someone else's app. Now you have a read/copy only file system, and the user experience would probably be better with something like AudioCopy and AudioPaste.
Jail. Break. Just do it already.

"If all apps had access to all other apps file systems, I could see it causing problems."
What about OSX and *nix systems? Apps can see the whole filesystem.. doesn't seem to be causing that much problems there.
@Jaybry
Yeah, jailbreaking is nice,.. but even if your device is hacked, apps still have to follow the rule. So if you upload samples for Beatmaker, you won't be able to see or use them in Nanostudio. You'll have to redo the same process, and redo it again for every apps.
Another thing.. what about backing up your project files, your songs? I can do it with hacking tools, but its not that easy. Most people will just lose their project files when they change devices (or if they break it).
Jail breaking your device, as jaybry says to do... is not only your solution to ANY .. And yes I mean ANY issue may have with using your IDEvice as an independent computer...it makes everything slightly easier, even when interacting with the computer..
The jailbreak devs are so good at this now, most of the time you don't loose anything at all with an update and it happens really easily.
Within ten minutes of video training from you tube you can have any of your idvices working independently of your computer. Accessing the file system with really advanced file exploring apps...file is basically a much more advanced finder... Yes more advanced than finder!!
I feel the need to do this because i do hear a lot of complaining about apple this and whatever... Unless you have an iPad 2 .. Which should be jail broken pretty soon it seems... You should def do it..
File management, tv output full time with any connection, no AirPlay bs, full time keyboard and mouse support, activator for gestures that not only apple removed from iOS 4.3 but also any gesture, customizable from anywhere on the screen with multitasking enhancements, system settings from anywhere(wifi to pretty much anything you can think of) folder enhancements (no limitations) scrolling springboards within folders, panoramic backgrounds ala android, Android emulation through themes(if your into that ugly pos cell phone os)...
Anyways stop bitching about what apple allows you to do and jailbreak your device so you can feel good the first time ever when your using it.
