Core MIDI iPad (and CCK) native support eliminates the need for external MIDI interfaces such like iConnectMIDI. MIDI delay..? There is NO MIDI latency using CCK with iPad and any of certified MIDI devices as noted on iOSMIDI.com... Waste of money and effort for the makers of this doubtful device - to little to late I'm afraid...
Just lost my comment, so I'll try to make this brief:
What about iPhone/iPod touch users? The CCK isn't supported on either device, and for that reason, I'd find this device quite useful. I also wonder what the latency really is, the lowest I've measured on osx has been 0.5ms (with realtime scheduling and some other hacks). I'll have to test it on my jailbroken phone, but I have seen pmset available, so maybe running the kernel in rt mode is possible in iOS. It's unfortunate that the CCK doesn't work on phones/touches, I'd really like to plug my audio 8 into my phone... This could easily be the next best thing, and if it hasn't gone into mass production yet, stereo ins and outs can be added (without taking up extra pins, iirc, they have dedicated pins on the 30pin bus), which would make this a definite purchase for a lot of people, myself included.
I'm a latency snob too, but if you can hear .5ms, my hat's off to ya. That's about the amount of time it takes for the sound of an acoustic guitar or a snare drum to reach your ear.
That being said, I will never complain about too little latency (any latency gets added to the amount of time it takes for the sound to travel from the speaker, so it's not entirely laughable). Still get it down to <5ms and I'm a fairly happy camper - bad timing is probably the fault of me rather than latency.
I thought I heard some latency in the video, but maybe the video was just out of sync.
Price might be a killer here. All Apple really needs to do is release a CCK that is iPhone compatible (which they'd probably only make iPhone 4+ compatible). Lots of people have been asking for it anyway... for photos.
But, this definitely has more capabilities than the CCK alone. I've never tried to hook up multiple midi devices through a powered USB hub to the CCK. Theoretically it should work. But this can also accept USB and traditional MIDI at the same time.
All in all, I think most people would go for CCK, but there will definitely be people with the money who will buy this as well.

And how can you connect 3 midi device at the same time? You still need some kind of MIDI inteface.

I'd like to see a demo with one controller running 4 idevices.
