Based on how little clearance there appears to be inside the StudioDock, it is unlikely that the iPad 2 will be entirely compatible.
However, it is possible that iPad 2 will fit, albeit in a somewhat fiddly manner (for instance, using a shim to occupy the space left open by the iPad 2's slimmer, flatter back.
A great (and fairly simple to implement) feature Alesis could have included to "future proof" the StudioDock would be to allow the StudioDock to connect to an external iDevice via USB.
Otherwise, I hope Alesis can quickly push out an iPad 2 version!
The Akai Synthstation25 works fine with my iPhone 4 and is a perfect fit if that's what you're referring to. They even include in the box a small strip of foam to fill in the space gap when using the flat-backed iPhone instead of the curved-back iPhone 3Gs.
Sorry, I didn't know Akai has fixed the SS25 incompatibility with the iphone 4.
I'm sure Alexis (or Akai) wouldn't spend time and money releasing a product that wouldn't work, but it sure seems to be a lot of effort on their side to make sure its compatible (like when I get 10 new different ipod plastic thingnies every time I buy anything compatible with ipods).

Another iAccessory getting out of the factory that won't work with future revisions of the same product?..
Will the Alexis StudioDock suffer the same fate as the Akai Synthstation?
