which does look iOS based, but will Apple ever allow developers into this product? If you remember there are still click wheel games for the old iPod Classic
but Apple never allowed lots of developers into this product, just a few select ones. So will they allow developers into the new Nano? Perhaps, one day, it would certainly give a new and potentially huge market for iOS developers to tap into, and a very different market segment at that. Time will tell I guess.

I hate it when companies remove functions from a new version of a device, like in this case. It seems pretty stupid to me
The Nano is not iOS based. Apple simulated the look, but it is not. On the other hand, John Gruber claims the Apple TV is. But that doesn't mean it'll run apps anytime soon.
Put a calculator app on the nano touch and i'm all in.
Yes, calculator is strangely missing from the new nano. But most importantly, the price is a bit strange. $149 is just $70 short of the iPod touch. Would expect it to start at $99-119.
I think that the Nano is odd. The video camera in the last version, and multitouch in this version but no apps, and I agree that the pricing is strange too.
If it isn't iOS it is very strange of Apple to emulate it like that.
