Thanks to Sigmund for pointing out that SV-5 is still on sale at $2.99. Given that at one point this app was sold at $16.99, that's a big reduction.
It seem like YUDO have never put the price back up for some reason as it dropped down back in December!

Could have a lot to do with the negative reviews. I have shyed away from this app since it's debut and even with a $2.99 price, I'm still thinking this app is not worth the time to download but I'm open for some convincing otherwise.
I can understand why it gets both good and bad reviews. It is a quite powerful program and if you know what you are doing you can get some pretty decent vocoder effects from it. On the other hand it takes a little effort to understand how to do this (the quick method is to scroll to the right hand screen and load a user preset - it's not so obvious that this is how you do it so I think a lot of people were simply stuck on the first screen and assumed it didn't work.)
It's not worth the more expensive price but if you really want a vocoder sound on your tracks then this one is the best that's available at the moment for the iphone/touch.
One practical downside is that the buttons are tiny (or maybe my fingers are just fat!) compared to many other apps so I can imagine it will be a lot better with the ipad rather than on the smaller screen.
Its not really an app you would toy around with, like thumbjam or Jasuto pro (its not 'fun' like those two) but in my opinion for 2.99 you would be getting your moneys worth - but only buy it if you intend to use classic vocoder Laurie Anderson type sounds in your music.
Sigmund .... thanks for taking the time to write about the Vocoder ... I understand a little more and may add this to my collection with the understanding that there is a bit of a learning curve. I will be getting the iPad in April and look forward to using some of the apps that I found constrained by the small pads and buttons. Thanks again!
