iPhone App Directory

Update on App Directory

I thought it was about time I gave you all a brief update on how this is going. Well, the good news is that there will be an app directory out by the end of March.

This is a sort of version 1 of the Palm Sounds app directory. It will be quite simple. For iPhone apps it will be broken down into pages for different categories of apps. Other operating systems will have a page to cover everything. Each app will have a very brief description and links to a fuller description and latest update.

I do plan to do something more comprehensive later in the year but for now I wanted to get something out before the iPad launch, when I'll have to start thinking about how to deal with that.

When it does become available there will undoubtedly be a number of apps missing, so please don't take offense if your favourite app is missing. I will of course be interested in suggestions for how to improve it, but for day one I want to make it simple and usable and then start thinking about a version 2 after that.

My advice is to take liberal cues from kvraudio.com... take what they do so well with plug-ins and apply it to mobile audio apps.

Thanks for that. The directory won't be quite like KVR, but it will be very simple indeed and hopefully easy to find what you want

I guess I'll know what you think after the end of the month!
