I'm not sure there's much difference between a Kaossilator Pro and the combo of a KP3+classic Kaossilator. The latter combo would be more flexible.
If your looking for a synth and effects processor combo don't overlook the Korg R3 synth which in addition to a being a virtual analog synth can also function as an effects processor with capabilities on par with a KP3. Plus it's also a MIDI controller.
Also be aware that the Kaossilator Pro, KP3 and R3 are not really handheld -- all require external power supplies. The classic Kaossilator runs on a couple batteries.
