Guitar FX Deluxe

This looks like a good FX app, not unlike Pocket Stompbox on Windows Mobile, and has a nice recording feature too.
  • 10 different effects for chorus and flang
  • 10 different echo effects
  • 10 different distortion effects
  • these three groups of effects can be combined in any way you like
  • that amounts to 1000 possible sound effect combinations
  • the intensity of each effect can be adjusted continuously
  • save up to four own presets and reload them at any time with a short touch of a button
  • presets are saved by holding down one of the preset buttons for three seconds
  • super low latency between 12 and 23 milliseconds
  • high quality audio output at 44.1 KHz
  • possibility to record and playback your tracks
  • transfer any recorded track instantly to your Mac / PC via WLAN

Just don't place your ipod touch next to your guitar pedals before you begin stomping them :)

It's not a bad little app, and the update is very welcome. I'll try to do a round-up of all of the FX apps on the iPhone soon. FWIW none can yet claim superiority over Pocket Stompbox on the PPC but some are getting close.

That makes me wonder, how do you chain it with other pedals? or plug it in the amp?

You need a special dual pronged cable (like the 'guitarbud' cable from prs). The cable has an output that is usually used to plug in your earphones but can be connected to an amp or other effect units if required. I dont think this sort of set up is the target market here - these type of apps are really practice amp replacements rather than meant for live use.

Yes, a roundup of FX apps would be neat. Please include not only guitar DSP/processing, but also any audio input (guitar, vocal, etc). Anything that might do real-time processing (audio in -> process -> audio out). Jasuto Pro, for example, would be included, as it provides mic input, and audio output. RjDj is another example of an FX app, in my book.

If its not too much to ask, it would be nice to include any info on bad latency introduced by the processing. Also, does the app provide the ability to "turn off" or "mix down" the original mic input (so you only get "wet" processed output).

Rob, if you get time to do an FX round up that'd be great
