Band in a Hand has had an update. Here's what's new:
- Support for iPod touch. Band In A Hand now works on both 1st and 2nd Generation iPod touch, as well as all iPhone generations. As there is no support for microphone on the 1st Generation iPod touch, you will not be able to record vocals on it, but all instrumental capabilities are fully functional. On the 2nd Generation iPod touch Band In A Hand is full featured.
- Reduced latency on audio recordings

Has anyone tried this out? It looks like it might be a good songwriting tool. I am assuming it is midi-based and triggers audio samples for piano, bass, and drums? And then adds a layer for recorded audio? I may take a chance on it, but was just curious if anyone has played with it.....

moondreamer made some good comments about this app on the app store. But he misunderstood one thing: You may record up to 4 audio recordings per tempo per song. I.e. Band In A Hand stores a recording with the song and the tempo it was recorded at.
Moondreamer, would you be able to copy your comments here? Sounds as if they'd be of interest to people in other store regions.
The other Band-in-a-Box-alike for iPhone is BandMaster, which I rather like, though it's a rather different animal: limited and non-editable patterns, but a decent range of jazz chord modifiers and a quite serviceable bassline generator. (I like to turn off the plonky piano and just use the bass and percussion as a kind of chordal metronome.)
